Our Property

Nestled in the serenity of the country side, The Campground House is located outside the town of Carlinville, IL. With nearly 40 acres of wooded tree line to wander you can't help but relax and take in the beauty of nature. A private pond with dock is available for fishing, or sit back and relax by a fire.

The rental house is perfect for a small family or friends getaway. The Campground House also welcomes large groups for events such as family reunions or weddings, the perfect backdrop to personalize a special occasion. An exciting addition in 2018 was RV camper hook ups, with electricity. Set next to the pond, the morning views couldn't be better!

A Little Bit of History

Another interesting aspect of the property is the Rice Cemetery located on the rock road between the farm and Campground House. The family who originally settled on the property established the cemetery in the late 1700s. Buried there are the original settlers Hyram and his wife Sara Rice, as well as their children, some of which died a very young ages. Life was very hard back then and children were very vulnerable to sickness and disease as well as many other hardships of life. According to the Macoupin county courthouse records, there are 26 people buried in the Rice Cemetery.  Some of the grave stones and markers are still visible so feel free to visit the cemetery during your stay.
